- Is this a race?
No, Fit Tours are non-competitive sight-running tours. We make stops at many of the most iconic Central Park landmarks along the way and talk about the history of each of them. Our active sightseeing tours show you Central Park in an up-close and detailed way that’s unlike any other. You’ll quickly learn why we’ve been called “the ultimate NYC fitness experience!”
- Can walkers sign-up?
Except for the Sunrise Yoga Tour, each of our tours involve a good deal of running, so you’ll need to be able to keep up with the group to hear the guide. Our pace is typically 9 – 10 min./mi. If that seems too fast for you, another option would be to sign up for one of our private runs (where we run at your pace!) or join the Sunrise Yoga Tour where we combine a good brisk walk with stretching and basic yoga poses.
- How long are the tours?
Each of our running tours in New York City last approximately one hour. Sometimes we finish five or 10 minutes earlier or later, depending on the overall pace of the group.
- Can I run with a jogging stroller?
Although we’ve never had one, jogging strollers are welcome. There are two large staircases along the course, but we’re happy to help carry strollers.
- How soon do I need to sign-up?
The earlier, the better. We keep the sign up open until 10 hours before the start of the tour. Within 24 hours, you have to call to book.
- What's the longest distance we run without stopping?
There are a couple of legs of the 5K Fun Run that are just under .5 mi.
- Do you mail anything to me?
No, we do everything online.
- Do you offer bag storage?
We don’t have bag storage, so come dressed to run! However, our guides wear backpacks and have room to carry small items like keys and phones — just ask during check-in.
- How do I now if I signed-up correctly?
You will receive an e-mail with a receipt from Fit Tours NYC through our booking company, FareHarbor, immediately following your registration with details on our meeting spot.
- I didn't get a confirmation!
There is a confirmation e-mail sent from our booking company, FareHarbor, immediately following your registration. If you haven’t received a confirmation e-mail then something is wrong and you should call us to confirm ASAP! They also send you a reminder email 24 hours prior to your tour.
- What happens if it rains?
Each of our runs is held rain or shine! If conditions are not to your liking, you can re-schedule to any of our other runs that have space available. In the event of dangerous weather (thunderstorms with lightning, extreme heat or cold, etc.) we will cancel the tour and if there aren’t any other tours that fit your schedule, you will receive a full refund.
- Where's the best place to park?
We strongly suggest you do not drive to the meeting location as parking extremely difficult to find on the streets of NYC and parking lots in midtown are extremely expensive. The best options to reach our meeting spots on time are either taxi, bus, or subway. All of our meeting spots are easily accessible by mass transit.
- What's your cancellation/refund policy?
If you contact Fit Tours NYC via email or phone to cancel your purchased tour at least 24 hours prior to your tour, we will refund your money. If we cancel your tour due to weather, we will refund your purchase if you are unable to participate in another offered tour. If you do not contact us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled tour to cancel your reservation, a refund will not be provided.
